Over 60 students from three separate biology classes where challenged to build three-dimensional models of DNA. The models were evaluated based on structural accuracy, demonstration of knowledge, and effort. All models that were turned in showed an abundance of effort and creativity, but three stood out from the rest. These three winners were awarded serious bragging rights as well as Dutch Bros gift cards for their triumphs. First place was awarded to Anastasiya Shevchenko, second place to Zoee Zufelt, and third place to Nicole Gonzalez. Thank you to all students who participated!
Each month, students nominate and vote for a high school teacher to honor.
January teacher of the month, Shaun Blaser, a teacher at PHS for the past seven years, was honored for providing a solid learning environment and creating a fun and engaging way to learn the Spanish language.
