Title IX-A: McKinney-Vento/Homeless Education

Ensuring every learner has access to school, stability, and support...no matter their situation.

If your family is experiencing a temporary or unstable housing situation, your child may qualify for additional support through the McKinney-Vento program.

Payette School District is here to help ensure your learner can stay in school, succeed academically, and feel supported during times of transition.

Who Qualifies

Your learner may qualify if your family is currently experiencing any of the following:

  • Living in a shelter
  • Staying with friends or family due to loss of housing (“doubled up”)
  • Living in a motel or campground
  • Living in a car, park, or other temporary situation
  • Moving frequently due to housing instability

These situations may be temporary, but support is available right away.

What Support Is Provided

Eligible learners may receive support such as:

  • Help staying in their school of origin 
  • Transportation to and from school
  • Immediate school enrollment 
  • Access to school meals
  • Academic support and resources
  • Connection to community services
